Columbia County Board of Commissioners to discuss dog training facility at May 7 meeting

The Columbia County Board of Commissioners will discuss a rezoning on Appling Harlem Road for a dog training facility at the meeting on Tuesday, May 7.

According to the agenda document, staff is recommending approval, with conditions, the rezoning of 1892 Appling Harlem Road from R-A (Residential Agricultural) to S-1 (Special) for a dog training facility.  The condition is that a connection to county sewer is required.

Road for a native plant nursery is also on the agenda. Staff is recommending approval, with conditions, which is that backflow conditions are installed prior to a business license being issued, according to the agenda document.

Commissioners will present a proclamation declaring May 18-24 as National Safe Boating Week. 

The Board of Commissioners will also hold a budget hearing for fiscal year 2025 on Tuesday, May 7 at 5:30 p.m. The budget summary, tax digest projections and more can be found at columbiacountyga.gov.
