A major PUD revision for the site of proposed Pinnacle Bank in Evans is up for discussion by the Columbia County Board of Commissioners during the regular meeting on Tuesday.
Pinnacle Bank and applicant Joy Newberry are requesting a major PUD revision for properties located at the intersection of Evans Towne Boulevard and Ronald Reagan Drive.
“The applicant has submitted a development plan, narrative, and color renderings to explain and illustrate the proposed development for the new Pinnacle Bank. The plans show a four-story building located at the corner of Ronald Reagan Drive and Evans Town Center Boulevard. This bank will be approximately 34,000 square feet and be designed to fit in with the surrounding architecture. Based on the surrounding roads and existing infrastructure, two access drives will be provided off Encore Lane and lead into the parking lot for this development. Sidewalk connections shall be provided to the existing
network to enhance the pedestrian experience,” according to the planning document.
Staff is recommending approval, according to the agenda document.
The rezoning request from Augusta Christian Schools for 316 Baston Road from S-1 (Special) & R-3 (Single Family Residential) to S-1 is also on the agenda. The school is wanting to expand its Baston Road campus.
The staff is recommending approval, with conditions, of the request for a proposed private elementary. Those conditions are that connection to county sewer is required and there needs to be minor adjustment to the provided conceptual plan to address any requirements by the Fire Marshal or Fire Department.
The commissioners will discuss appointing Austin Rhodes to the Columbia County Library Board to fill the vacancy left by Barry Paschal, who resigned. Rhodes is being appointed by District 1 Commissioner Connie Melear and would fill Paschal’s remaining term, which expires Dec. 31, 2026.
