Columbia County Board of Commissioners to meet on Tuesday

The Columbia County Board of Commissioners will discuss a variance request during the meeting on Tuesday, Nov. 4.

The applicant is seeking a variance for the list of lot and structure requirements for 938 Windmill Lane to reduce the rear setback for a proposed storage structure. Staff is recommending approval the condition that “the rear property line must be located and marked prior to footing/foundation inspection being inspected,” according to the agenda document.

The variance request is the only item on the debate agenda. There are several items under executive session, including one personnel item and four property items.

The Columbia County Board of Commissioners will meet on Tuesday, Nov. 4 at 6 p.m. in the auditorium at the Evans Government Center Complex. For more information, visit columbiacountyga.gov.

Columbia County Planning Commission 

The Columbia County Planning Commission will meet on Thursday, Nov. 6 at 6 p.m. in the auditorium at the Evans Government Center. 

One of the items on the agenda is a public hearing regarding the proposed ordinance regarding data centers. Community members are encouraged to attend and voice their opinion on the proposed ordinance.

Columbia County Board of Elections

The Columbia County Board of Elections will meet on Friday, Nov. 7 at 2 p.m. at the Board of Elections Appling Warehouse for a pre-certification meeting. The board will then meet on Monday, Nov. 10 at 10:30 a.m. at the Appling Warehouse to certify the election results and for any other business. For more information, visit columbiacountyga.gov.
