The Columbia County Board of Commissioners will meet for its regular meeting on Tuesday, Oct. 17.

Several rezoning items on the agenda. One is a conditional use for indoor animal care at 4104 Colben Blvd. According to the agenda document, Jonnah Tolbert, said his wife has eight years of experience as a dog groomer and that nearby tenants are “excited to have a dog groomer.” The tubs will have interceptors and will be cleaned daily. There will be no boarding at the facility.

Staff is recommending approval with condition of a hair/link interceptor being required for drains in the grooming area.

A major PUD (Planned Unit Development) revision for 500 Oxbow Drive for retail package sales of distilled spirits for off premise consumption is also on the agenda. According to the agenda document, the applicant, Ashok Shah, said the neighbors are in favor of the package story opening at that location. There was previously a package store in the shopping space and there will be limited hours. There were no public comments on the revision.

Staff is recommending approval of the revision.

The Columbia County Board of Commissioners will meet at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 17 in the auditorium at the Evans Government Center. The full agenda can be found at columbiacountyga.gov.
