The Columbia County Board of Elections approved precinct changes during the meeting on March 18.

Executive Director Nancy Gay said the board is moving voters from Precinct 120/Harvest Pointe Church and combining them with 065/Christ Sanctified Holy Church. This change is due to Harvest Pointe moving from the current location on Belair Road.

Dissolving Precinct 070/Blanchard Park and splitting the voters between Precincts 076/Westminster Presbyterian and Precinct 085/Trinity Baptist Church was also discussed. This would result is dissolving 070 due to the facility becoming difficult to use due to its age and size.

Voters who used Precinct 105/Savannah Rapids Pavilion are being combined with Precinct 109/Stevens Creek Community Church, Gay said. This change is due to Savannah Rapids Pavilion being damaged during Hurricane Helene and was done for the November 2024 election.

Gay said changes have been made to Vacation Bible School for Kiokee Baptist Church, which is precinct 010, so there will be no conflict with the election and that precinct will remain the same.

All the proposed precinct changes were approved by the board. Notices will be sent out to voters in those precincts letting them know about the changes.

There will be a special primary election on June 17 and a special election on Nov. 4 for Public Service Commission Districts 2 and 3.

The next meeting will be April 15 at 10:30 a.m. at the Board of Elections office. For more information, visit columbiacountyga.gov.
