The Columbia County Board of Elections continued its discussion on proposed precinct changes during the meeting on Tuesday, Feb. 18.

Executive Director Nancy Gay said they have not received any feedback yet about the proposals. The changes are moving voters from Precinct 120/Harvest Pointe Church and combining them with 065/Christ Sanctified Holy Church. Gay said the board was notified by Harvest Pointe that they are moving from the current location on Belair Road to another one across the county.

Splitting the voters at Precinct 070/Blanchard Park and dividing them between Precincts 076/Westminster Presbyterian and Precinct 085/Trinity Baptist Church is also proposed. This would result is dissolving 070 due to the facility becoming difficult to use due to its age and size.

The board is proposing to move voters who currently use Precinct 105/Savannah Rapids Pavilion and combining them with Precinct 109/Stevens Creek Community Church, Gay said. This change is due to Savannah Rapids Pavilion being damaged during Hurricane Helene and was done in the November 2024 election.

Gay said since the January meeting, the Board of Elections was notified by Kiokee Baptist Church, which is precinct 010, has Vacation Bible School planned during the June election, so that precinct will have to be moved to a facility that has yet to be determined.

No decisions have been made on the changes. Once the changes have been made, notices will be sent out to the affected voters to let them know of the changes.
