The Columbia County Board of Elections approved extending voting hours during part of early voting in the upcoming November election.
On the second Saturday of early voting, Oct. 26, from 9 a.m. – 6 p.m. and the last full week of early voting, Oct. 28 – Nov. 1, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. The first two weeks of early voting, Oct. 15 – Oct. 25 will be from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and first Saturday, Oct. 19, will be from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

“From my perspective of the people I’ve talked to, they thought moving the time to 6 p.m. for early voting instead of 5 p.m. for early voting was helpful,” said Board Member Larry Wiggins. “A lot of people could come after getting off of work.”
The board is also looking at adding a third, yet to be determined, site for early voting during the November election, said Board of Elections Executive Director Nancy Gay.
