Columbia County CES Committee to discuss agreements, contracts and more during Tuesday meeting

The Columbia County Community and Emergency Services Committee will discuss several agreements and contracts committees during the meeting on Tuesday, April 23. 

An ​agreement with Sunset Auction Company for the Columbia County surplus items auction is one of the items. The items up for auction include vehicles, equipment and other property owned by the county. The auction will be held on May 18, according to the agenda document. Staff is recommending approval.

The rejection of RFP #2024001-RFP1001 for video production is also on the agenda. According to the agenda document, seven proposals were opened in February and after being reviewed, “the County has decided to reject all proposals and explore other avenues.” Staff is recommending the rejection of the bids.

An intergovernmental agreement with the Columbia County Board of Education for shared use of recreational facilities is on the agenda.

“For over 25 years, the Columbia County Board of Commissioners and the Columbia

County Board of Education have shared various athletic venues, making their respective facilities available to each other. With this agreement expiring June 30, 2024, the BOC and BOE wish to enter into a new Intergovernmental Agreement for the shared use of the recreational facilities in order to reduce costs and maximize utilization of indoor and outdoor sports-related facilities,” according to the agenda document. 

Staff is recommending approval of the IGA.

Both the CES and Public Works and Engineering Services Committee will meet. The first meeting will start at 8:30 a.m. and the second will follow the conclusion of the first. The meetings will take place in the auditorium of the Evans Government Center complex.
