Due to the potential for inclement weather, Columbia County and Aiken have rescheduled the Christmas tree lightings to this Thursday, Nov. 30.
According to a press release from the county, from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m., patrons can shop local vendors who are offering a variety of goods. The Christmas tree lighting will take place at 6 p.m.
“There will be no fireworks display this year. However, Santa Claus will be in attendance, spreading joy and adding an extra sprinkle of holiday magic to the evening’s festivities. Children and adults alike can interact with Santa Claus, sharing their wishes and capturing priceless memories,” according to the press release.
The Christmas parade, which is hosted by the Columbia County Merchants Association, is still scheduled to take place on Sunday, Dec. 3 at 3 p.m. Updates on the parade will be posted on the Columbia County Christmas Parade Facebook page.
