The Columbia County Management and Internal Services Committee will have two presentations during the meeting on Sept. 12.
There will be recognition of the 2023 Achievement of Excellence in Procurement Award that has been earned by the Procurement Department.
“The Columbia County Procurement Department has earned the 2023 Achievement of Excellence in Procurement Award. In 1995, the National Procurement Institute, Inc. (NPI) established the Achievement of Excellence in Procurement® (AEP) program, designed to recognize organizational excellence in public Procurement. This prestigious annual award is earned by those organizations that demonstrate excellence by obtaining a high score based on criteria designed to measure innovation, professionalism, productivity, e-procurement, and leadership attributes of the procurement organization,” according to the agenda document.
The second recognition is the 2023 GMIS International, Government-to-Citizen award for the 2023-2028 SPLOST Public Outreach and Engagement Hub Site. According to the agenda document, the portal provides citizens with a web platform with information about SPLOST, including previous SPLOST projects and proposed projects that would be possible in future SPLOST projects.
The Development and Planning Services Committee will hear an application for an alcoholic beverage license for Trishlom LLC dba Super Lotto. The applicant wants to sell beer and wine in off premise consumption at the 408 South Belair Road location.
The Audit Committee will also meet and discuss draft audit reports for the engineering services division, tax commissioner and juvenile court.
The Public Facilities Authority will meet for the first time on Wednesday, Sept. 13. During this meeting there will be an election of officers, approval of the bylaws and a general discussion.
The MIS, DPS and Audit committees will meet at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 12 in the auditorium at the Evans Government Center. The Public Authorities will meet at 8 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 13 in the commissioners conference room.
