Columbia County authorities are investigating a fight which has left one man “unresponsive.”

Shortly after 2 p.m. Monday, deputies were dispatched to 206 Evans Lake Dr. to a “fight in progress” where they found Howard Winning, 61, “unresponsive in the bathroom,” according to an email from Maj. Steve Morris of the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office.

Anthony Burns, 41, has been “taken into custody.”

Both of the men lived at this address.

Morris said there was early “mention of gunshots but that has not been substantiated.”

The email does not confirm Winning’s condition, nor does it state charges against Burns.
