Columbia County MIS Committee approves moving forward with victim advocate assistant position

The Columbia County Management and Internal Services Committee approved moving forward with the creation of a victim’s advocate administrative position during the meeting on Tuesday, Dec. 12.

Columbia County District Attorney Bobby Christine said this position will assist the victim’s advocates and will be funded using the 5% funds. 

“Five percent of add-on’s to fines are restricted to use for victim advocate services,” Christine said. 

The Development and Planning Services Committee approved moving forward with alcohol licenses for The 1790 Club, 2 Boys Pizza and Grill LLC, Belair Real Estate LLC dba Hampton Inn & Suites Augusta West, Miyako of Grovetown and Evans Liquor LLC dba Spirits Drive Thru.

For the 1790 Club, the organization is seeking to sell beer, wine and distilled spirits for on premises consumption, according to the agenda document. 2 Boys Pizza and Grill is seeking to sell beer and wine for on premise consumption, according to the agenda document. Belair Real Estate LLC dba Hampton Inn & Suites Augusta West is seeking to sell beer and wine for off premise consumption, according to the agenda document. Miyako of Grovetown is seeking to sell beer, wine and distilled spirits for on premise consumption, according to the agenda document. Evans Liquor LLC dba Spirits Drive Thru is seeking to sell beer, wine and distilled spirits for off premise consumption. 

The audit committee received the fiscal year 2022/2023 audit results, and an unmodified opinion was given.
