Columbia County MIS committee approves service agreements

The Columbia County Management and Internal Services Committee approved moving forward with the fiscal year service agreement with Alliance for Fort Eisenhower during the meeting on Tuesday, Aug. 13.

County Manager Scott Johnson said this agreement has been in place for several years and the amount, $25,000, is the same as last year. 

“Providing representation to promote the enhancement of Fort Eisenhower to determine what future missions might be available to maintain the Fort as a vital functioning installation to Columbia County and the other areas of the Central Savannah River Area (CSRA), which would affect the economic benefits to these communities,” the agreement says about the services provided.

The committee approved moving the items to the consent agenda of the full board of commissioners.

The MIS Committee also approved moving forward the FY25 agreement with Columbia County Cares, Inc.Johnson said Columbia County Cares provides food pantry services for the citizens of the county and the agreement helps to provide items to serve the community. The agreement is for $1,000.

The Development and Planning Services Committee approved moving forward with an independent contractor agreement with South Western Communications for control system upgrades at the Justice Center. Steven Prather, director of facilities design and construction, told the committee members that the bid was for $97,617.00 with an add alternate of $1,844.00 for a total of $99,461. They would be replacing the system on the 21 existing doors and four duress buttons. 

The DPS Committee also approved alcoholic beverage licenses for Parker’s #89 at 925 Husk Box Way and Parker’s #104 at 5095 Washington Road. Both are for the sale of beer and wine for off premise consumption.
