Columbia County MIS Committee to discuss proclamation and agreement

The Columbia County Management and Internal Services Committee will consider a proclamation recognizing the state championships of several teams from Augusta Christian Schools during its meeting on Tuesday, July 11.

According to the agenda document, the boys’ basketball, baseball and cheer teams took home state titles during the 2022-2023 school year. If the committee moves the item to the Columbia County Board of Commissioners agenda, and the board of commissioners approves, the proclamation will be presented during the July 18 meeting. 

The MIS committee will also consider a service agreement with the CSRA Alliance for Fort Gordon. According to the agenda document, the agreement is for $25,000.

“Providing representation to promote the enhancement of Fort Gordon to determine what future missions might be available to maintain Fort Gordon as a vital functioning installation to Columbia County and the other areas of the Central Savannah River Area (CSRA), which would affect the economic benefits to these communities,” is what the agreement states will be the duty of the CSRA Alliance for Fort Gordon under the agreement. 

The staff is recommending approval of both of these items.

The Columbia County Development and Planning Services Committee will consider an agreement with Cranston, LLC for construction of the pickleball courts at Columbia County Racquet Club. The agreement is to provide design and construction documents for 11 pickleball courts and other site improvements, according to the agenda document.

The staff is recommending approving the agreement for a cost of $56,000, according to the document.

Both committees will meet Tuesday, July 11 at 8:30 a.m. in the auditorium at the Evans Government Center.
