Columbia County MIS, DPS committees to meet Tuesday

The Columbia County Management and Internal Services Committee and Development and Planning Services Committee will both meet on Tuesday. 

The MIS Committee will discuss the fiscal year 2024 service agreements with Concerned Women Inc and Hattie Mae and Deborah Marshall Scholarship Foundation for $2,000 each. 

Also on the MIS committee agenda is a resolution to amend the fee schedule for the Columbia County Health Department environmental fees. 

“The Columbia County Health Department voted at their Sept.13, 2023 meeting to amend Environmental Fees. Per OCGA Sec. 31-3-4(a)(6) no fees for environmental health services may be charged unless the schedule of fees for such services has been approved by the county governing authority,” according to the agenda document.

County staff is requesting the resolution be sent to the debate agenda for the full Board of Commissioners for the first reading. 

The Development and Planning Services Committee will discuss an alcoholic beverage License, Evergreen Alliance Golf Limited LP dba Champions Retreat Golf Club to sell beer, wine and distilled spirits for on premise consumption. According to the agenda document, there is no known opposition to the license, which will be approved at the Nov. 7 Board of Commissioners meeting. 

Both the Management and Internal Services Committee and Development and Planning Services Committee will meet on Tuesday, Oct. 10 at 8:30 a.m. in the auditorium at the Evans Government Center. The full agenda can be found at columbiacountyga.gov.
