Columbia County School District Seeks Bus Drivers, Nutrition Assistants and Custodians

Columbia County School District is sponsoring a job fair Feb. 25 from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. at Evans Middle School, 4785 Hereford Farm Rd. The school district is taking applications for bus drivers, nutrition assistants, and custodians, according to a Feb. 17 press release.

Staff members from various departments will be on site to answer questions. Qualified applicants will be interviewed, so business attire is recommended. Applicants must wear protective masks upon entering and exiting the building.

Columbia County School District requires bus drivers to be at least 21 years old and able to pass an annual exam, including drug and alcohol screenings. The school district offers paid, in-house training for qualified candidates to earn their CDL after employment.

Shellie Smitley spent her childhood in Wisconsin. As an adult she lived in Sevier County, TN for more than 15 years where she earned an associate degree in paralegal studies from Walters State Community College. After relocating to Augusta, she earned an undergraduate degree in Communications with an emphasis in journalism from Augusta University.
