The Columbia County Sheriff’s Office is offering a unique opportunity for local residents to learn about law enforcement operations through its Citizen’s Law Enforcement Academy, beginning Sept. 11.

This free 10-week course is open to Columbia County residents aged 18 and older and provides an in-depth look at the everyday workings of the Sheriff’s Office, according to a press release from Columbia County Sheriff’s Office.

Held every Thursday evening from 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., the academy will feature hands-on experiences, including firearms training with live fire at the Sheriff’s Office Shooting Range.

Interested individuals are encouraged to contact the Sheriff’s Office Community Services Division at 541-2856 or visit www.columbiacountyso.org to download an application.
