Columbia County voters approve E-SPLOST renewal

The Columbia County School District's Superintendent, Dr. Steven Flynt, spoke on Tuesday night at Lakeside High School about a renewed E-SPLOST one-cent tax.

Columbia County voters approved renewing the Columbia County School District’s E-SPLOST for five more years.

The Columbia County School District 1% Sales and Use Tax for Educational Purposes (E-SPLOST) and Approval of Bonds vote received 56,466 (67.6%) yes votes and 26,963 (32.3%) no votes.

With 46 out of 46 precincts reporting in, the unofficial results for Columbia County favored former President Donald Trump in the 2024 Presidential election. 

Out of 110,049 registered voters in the county, 86,513 residents cast their ballots, with over 60,000 being cast during advanced voting.

These results are unofficial and do not include provisional ballots. The Columbia County Board of Elections will meet on Tuesday, Nov. 12 at 10:30 a.m. at the Board of Education Warehouse to certify the election results.
