Comcast Xfinity celebrates opening of new store in south Augusta

Date: March 14, 2025

Comcast Augusta hosted the grand opening of its Xfinity store in Windsor Spring Road’s Colony Plaza, Tuesday morning. Mayor Garnett Johnson and Commissioner Don Clark joined the Augusta Metro Chamber of Commerce in cutting the ribbon on the electronics shop, a celebration delayed from when the store originally opened in August by Hurricane Helene.

“Very early on, Comcast Xfinity was in the room with us, helping our city recover. They’re continuing to do it,” said Mayor Johnson. “Not only have they given their time, they’ve given their money, and we’re eternally grateful to you and the leadership and the team that’s here to open this store in beautiful south Augusta.”

Rachel Ozias, vice president of sales and marketing in Comcast’s Big South region, highlighted the company’s participation in local storm recovery efforts, including the distribution of some 300,000 hygiene kits to the unhoused via a partnership with United Way of the CSRA, to whom Comcast donated $100,000, last fall, towards similar initiatives.

Even later that day, Comcast Xfinity presented a $35,000 donation to the Boys and Girls Club of Augusta towards the nonprofit’s digital literacy programs and towards its Lift Zone, areas equipped with free high-speed Wi-Fi capabilities.

“This means growth; this means excitement,” said Commissioner Clark about the new Xfinity store, underscoring its implications for development. “At the end of the day, it’s a great thing for south Augusta… We’re always saying we’re continuing to grow.”

The store itself, while being a hub for Xfinity internet and mobile service, also offers various devices—phones, tablets, TVs—home security services and even landline equipment.

“Even if you don’t have us as a provider, you’re using some type of internet and some type of cell phone service. So we’re a part of your everyday life,” said store manager Jordon Evans. “So it was very important to get everything back up and running as quickly as possible, especially in the community.

The Xfinity Store by Comcast is located at 2115 Windsor Spring Road, Ste. 19.
