Commission vote paves way for new 133 unit subdivision on Pleasant Home Road

Date: November 15, 2022

The Augusta Richmond County Commission has voted 8-1 to approve the rezoning of a tract of land on Pleasant Home Road for a new subdivision.

Over the past 2 years various concepts have been proposed for the tract only to meet resistance from surrounding neighborhoods.

The new approved plan will have 133 units consisting of 51 detached and 72 attached townhouse units. The site is roughly 20 acres.

Below is a timeline of what has occurred related to the site.


November 8, 2022 – Planning Commission votes to approve new plan with a new traffic signal to address traffic and reduction of unit count to 133 units


September 10, 2022 – County Commission votes to deny Winchester project with 143 units


November 17, 2021 – Commission votes to deny upholding Planning Commission recommendation


November 2, 2021 – Planning Commission votes to deny Ivey Developments request to rezone site for 191 multifamily units


July 15, 2022 – Plans submitted to Planning and Development Dept for new subdivision by Winchester Homes
