Mini Golf Fundraiser Set for Sept. 11
The Southern Roots Team at Keller Williams Realty will have a mini golf family fun day and tournament from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 11, at South on Whiskey, 3197 Whiskey Rd., Aiken.
A shotgun start for veterans will begin at 10 a.m. with a fun round for anyone wanting to play at 11:30 a.m. The event is a fundraiser for ForcesUnited, a local organization that helps veterans of all eras, wounded or not, to find healthcare, housing, employment, benefits, education and more. Sept. 11 is the kickoff of its annual 11:11 capital campaign that runs until Nov. 11.
“Veterans are very close to our hearts on the Southern Roots Team,” said Josh Campos, the team leader. “One of our new team members is a veteran, and some of us have family members who are veterans. We enjoy every opportunity we have to support ForcesUnited because they are so dedicated to our local veterans.”
The Beefed Up Food Truck will be at the tournament, and a silent auction will be held. Last year’s event raised $1,200 for Forces United.
