March 29, 6 p.m. AU Writing Project Author Series with Paul Griffin. Author Paul Griffin will join the AU College of Education for a virtual event on March 29 at 6 p.m. Griffin is the critically acclaimed author of many novels, including “Ten Mile River,” “The Orange Houses,” “Stay with Me,” “Burning Blue,” “Adrift,” as well as the middle grade novels “When Friendship Followed Me Home” and” Saving Marty.” Register at https://augustastate.co1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_a36oJi6PjJW6X89

March 31, 10:30 a.m. Book Buddies Virtual Children’s Story Time
Grovetown Library – Join Ms. Vivian on Grovetown Library’s Facebook page each Wednesday morning at 10:30 for stories, songs, fingerplays, and lots of interaction.

April 1, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.  Hop in to the Aiken County Visitors Center, 133 Laurens St., N.W. Aiken, for an Easter goodie bag for children. Goodie bags include a craft, coloring page and candy. Free to the community while supplies last.

April 1, Noon to 10 p.m. Tattoos and Rescues.  Animal-themed flash sheet tattoos will sell for $40 at Allegiance Ink Tattoo, 4074 Washington Rd. Ten dollars from each tattoo will go to the SPCA Albrecht Center for Animal Welfare in Aiken.

April 4, Noon to 4 p.m. Spring Market at the Marina. The 5th Street Marina is the site of the weekly market Sundays through May 9.  A food truck will be on site. Live music and visual demonstrations will be on site as well. Sign up at marketatthemarina@gmail.com. Spaces are $20 each.

April 5, 6:30 p.m. Hopelands Gardens Concert Series. Josh Martin and the Mod Squad 
Hopelands Gardens, Aiken. Bring your lawn chair and a picnic dinner to enjoy the many different musical styles. Event parking is located at the Green Boundary Club. Masks and social distancing are encouraged. Free admission.

April 6, 10 a.m. Puddle Ducks: Kids and Caregivers Club. Events for children through age 5 the first Tuesday of each month at 10 a.m. Stories, crafts and hands-on fun in nature. For more information, go to phinizycenter.org.

April 6, 4 p.m.  Story Time in the Gardens. Rye Patch in Hopelands Gardens. Bring a lawn chair or blanket for this event at the Rye Patch in Hopelands Gardens. Each family receives a free book.  

April 12, 6:30 p.m. The Experiment and the I-20 Horns, Hopelands Gardens. The Experiment and the I-20 Horns is an eclectic mix of old-school and modern dance music. Event parking is located at the Green Boundary Club. Masks and social distancing are encouraged. Free admission.

April 14, 6 p.m.  Yappy Hour SPCA Albrecht Center for Animal Welfare. It’s time again for the SPCA Albrecht Center’s most popular event of the year, Yappy Hour. Bring your friendly, furry friends and enjoy a cash bar, grill-out, live music, “Lucky Dog” raffle prizes, kids’ games and free SPCA Dog Park access. Masks required due to COVID-19, unless seated to eat and/or drink. All events will require masks and social distancing.
