To the Editor:

On behalf of the State Bar of Georgia, I am writing to extend congratulations to Carletta Sims Brown, managing attorney for Sims Brown Law LLC in Augusta and Marietta, on her appointment by Gov. Brian Kemp to serve as a judge for the Richmond County Civil and Magistrate Court.

Judge Brown will be well served in her new position by her 31 years of experience in the legal profession, including her work in the private practice of law and previous service as a Cobb County Magistrate Court judge, staff attorney for the Georgia Public Defender Standards Council and with the Cobb County Attorney’s Office and the City of Union City.

By accepting this appointment, Judge Brown demonstrates her continued commitment to serving the public and the justice system. We wish her well in this new capacity of judicial leadership.

Sincerely,

Dawn M. Jones

President, State Bar of Georgia
