Construction on a new connector at the Children’s Hospital of Georgia in Augusta will begin in June.
According to a press release, the new connector will be between the hospital entrance and its parking deck.
The new glass and steel connector will be climate-controlled. It will replace the canopy-covered sidewalk currently being used.

A portion of the sidewalk will be closed beginning June 1. The rest of the sidewalk will be closed beginning June 14.
Alternate routes during the project will include a pedestrian detour from the parking deck, across the lawn, to the front entrance at CHOG. There will also be a temporary sidewalk for faculty and staff from the Dugas Building to the employee entrance at CHOG.
Construction on the new connector is expected to take six months.
