The name of the deceased man found on the back porch of 1638 Broad Street in Augusta has been identified.

Clarence Matthew Inglett, 63, was positively identified by fingerprints, Coroner Mark Bowen said in a press release.

This home at 1638 Broad Street, where a homeless man was found dead, has been condemned.

Inglett was homeless and had been dead several days when he was found July 21. Authorities were unable to identify him immediately due to the condition of the body, the coroner said. The autopsy results are still pending and will take a few weeks.

Meanwhile, the death remains under investigation. The city’s Code Enforcement was notified and the vacant house was condemned.
