It’s an up-close and personal weekend with the country trio Chapel Hart in Aiken.
The New Orleans-based group will be at Rose Hill Estate for stories and song in three events.
The festivities begin at 6 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 28, in the Listening Room at the Stables featuring a free local songwriter showcase with Chapel Hart.
“There’s going to be a 20-minute rotation with local musicians and 20 minutes with Chapel Hart,” said Elizabeth Smith, co-owner of Rose Hill.
Dave Mercer will play host for the evening, which culminates with Chapel Hart’s set.

On Friday and Saturday, there’s a nod to Chapel Hart’s home of New Orleans. The event has a theme of “Let the Good Times Roll” at Sheffield’s, one of the on-site restaurants located in the main house at Rose Hill. The menu will pay homage to the Big Easy as well with crawfish etouffee with dirty rice, andouille sausage and corn and jambalaya. The dinner will be topped off with beignets and coffee.
“It’s an intimate event with Chapel Hart. They’ll be telling stories about their music and telling stories about their life,” Smith said.
Chapel Hart features Grammy-nominated artist Danica Hart, her sister Devynn Hart and their cousin, Trea Swindle.

The group’s current release is “Jesus and Alcohol” featuring Billy Gibbons of ZZ Top. Others appearing in the music video include T. Graham Brown, Deborah Allen and JD Shelburne. It’s on their “Out the Mud” album that was released in August 2019.
“We’re excited to be back in Aiken,” said Danica Hart, in a news release from Rose Hill. “We were so well-received when we played at The Stables back in October. We’re looking forward to seeing familiar faces and meeting new ones.”
The Let the Good Times Roll event will be from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Jan. 28 and 29.
The cost is $75 per person.

In addition to the events with Chapel Hart, there will be another event on grounds at Rose Hill’s The Stables restaurant that features executive chef Jeff Hairston’s modern twist on Southern cuisine.
The Stables will host an oyster roast on Saturday, Jan 30. The oysters will come from the coast, and Brent Lundy will provide music.
The event will be from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., and the cost will be $50.
Smith and her fiancé, Andrew Hobbs, purchased Rose Hill in 2020.
Built in the 1890s, the Dutch Colonial home is a former winter colony estate with six guest suites that have all been renovated to include ensuite bathrooms. Rose Hill also has two restaurants and several event spaces. At one time, the home served as a seminary, and there’s a chapel on the site. Rose Hill Estate is located on five acres in downtown Aiken.
“Rose Hill has been off-grid for about 5 to 7 years,” she said. “We have so many ideas.”
