Cranston Engineering has launched a new office just outside of Aiken, the business announced Tuesday, March 7.
As part of an expansion effort aimed at reaching into the South Carolina Midlands, the landscape architecture and surveying firm opened its latest location at 1476 Columbia Hwy outside of Aiken.
“Our vision for regional growth includes an expansion of our practice lines, including transportation, water resource management, land development, landscape architecture, and surveying, along the I-20 corridor toward Lexington and Columbia, South Carolina,” said Cranston President Dennis Welch, noting the new site spreads the company in closer reach to Edgefield, Saluda and Greenwood, as well as Lexington and Columbia. “We see this as a tremendous growth opportunity for us.”
Civil engineer Thomas Parrott would head the new office, having returned to the firm last year after serving as city engineer for the City of Aiken.
“Our vision for the office is to expand into the local Midlands market with a focus on municipalities and large regional development partners,” Parrott said.
Cranston is headquartered in Augusta, at 452 Ellis St. downtown, and its name can be found on the concept plans of several local development projects, including Denkai America, Augusta University’s Columbia County hospital, the redevelopment of the Regency Mall property. The firm also has offices in Charleston and Hilton Head, S.C.
