A total of 236 crimes tracked by The Augusta Press that were reported to the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office during the week of May 25-31.
Those crimes included a total of 78 assaults, including three aggravated assaults and 27 cases of family violence battery. Other violent crimes included one armed robbery.
In property crimes, there were 15 burglaries, and 44 cases of property damage. Residents reported 23 vehicles were broken into during the week, and a total of 57 thefts were reported. Among the theft reports were the thefts of 10 vehicles, seven of which were stolen with the keys inside.
