A total of 245 crimes tracked by The Augusta Press were reported to the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office during the week of April 27 to May 3.
There was one armed robbery, one kidnapping and 86 total assaults. Six of the assaults were aggravated assaulted or aggravated battery and 34 of the assaults reports were family violence battery.
Property crimes included 15 burglaries, 39 cases of property damage, 23 vehicle break-ins and 50 thefts. Included in the theft total were five firearms. Ten vehicles were stolen, four of which had the keys inside.
