During the week of June 15-21, a total of 263 crimes tracked by The Augusta Press were reported to the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office, including one homicide.
Percy L. Johnson, 31, was fatally shot in the 700 block of Broad Street on June 19.
Other violent crimes during the week included 82 assaults, seven of which were aggravated assaults and 30 were cases of family violence battery. There were also two armed robberies reported during the week.
Property crimes included 15 burglaries, 73 thefts, and 54 cases of property damage. Included in the thefts were 13 vehicle thefts.
