One homicide was included in the 166 crimes tracked by The Augusta Press that were reported to the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office during the week of Nov. 23-29.
On Nov. 27, Joseph Fortson, 34, was fatally shot at 1814 Fayetteville Drive.
Other violent crime during the week included one armed robbery, one kidnapping of a child, and 58 assaults. Four of those assaults were classified as aggravated assault, and 23 were classified as family violence battery.
Property crimes during the week included 10 burglaries, 29 cases of property damage, 12 vehicle break-ins, and 43 thefts.
