Crime map: Richmond County crimes just over 200 in week of Aug. 17

Three homicides were reported to the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office during the week of Aug. 17-23. Of the crimes tracked by The Augusta Press, there were 208 reported crimes.

The first homicide was the Aug. 20 shooting of Nakendrick D. Glover, 29, on Vanderbilt Circle. The next day, Samuel Jackson, 48, was shot to death at 2574 Tobacco Road. And on Aug. 23, 43-year-old Cynthia Wright was shot to death at 1150 Fifth Street.

Other violent crimes during the week included one armed robbery and 75 assaults, 25 of which were family violence battery cases and seven were aggravated assaults.

Property crimes during the week included 14 burglaries, 38 thefts, 47 cases of property damage, and 16 vehicle break-ins.
