For the first time in nearly two months, homicides occurred between the week of June 8-14 in Richmond County. The Augusta Press tracked a total of 229 crimes that were reported to the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office during the week.
Three homicides occurred, two on June 12 and another on June 14, ending weeks of no reported homicides since April 23. Other violent crimes included one armed robbery and two robberies. There was also a total of 80 assaults, seven of which were aggravated assaults and 29 of which were family violence battery.
Property crimes included 23 burglaries during the week, and 38 cases of property damage. There was a total of 48 thefts reported, including 13 vehicle thefts. Four of those vehicles had keys inside.
