Cross Creek High student arrested after violent outburst at school

Re'onna Davis, 17

Date: August 29, 2025

A 17-year-old student at Cross Creek High School was arrested Wednesday morning following a disruptive and violent incident on campus that led to multiple charges.

Re’onna Davis, a student at the school, is facing four charges, including felony obstruction of a law enforcement officer, disrupting a public school, simple battery, and simple battery against a school employee. She remained in jail Thursday without bond because of the battery to a school employee.

According to school authorities, the incident began when Davis was observed walking through the hallway yelling obscenities. She was escorted to the school office, where an assistant principal assigned her to in-school suspension (ISS) and instructed her to report there immediately. Instead, Davis walked in the opposite direction.

When she was redirected by school staff, Davis reportedly resumed shouting profanities and made threats to assault someone else. A school safety officer attempted to detain her at that point.

Authorities say Davis became physically aggressive, striking the officer in the chest multiple times, pulling away, and then kneeing him in the torso. The officer was taken to the ground during the struggle, during which Davis allegedly scratched his face.

While the officer worked to restrain her, the assistant principal attempted to intervene. Davis then allegedly kicked the administrator in the right knee and left thigh. A second school safety officer arrived to assist and was reportedly struck in the forearm during the altercation.

Davis, a resident of Augusta, was taken into custody and transported from the school following the incident.
