The owner of an CrossFit gym in Evans was charged Monday with having sexual relations with a 15-year-old girl who he coached.

Scott Paige, 36, was turned in by his wife after she discovered the relationship between her husband and the teen girl continued for months after he promised to stop, according to a sheriff’s report. Paige and his wife own a CrossFit gym together called Bare CrossFit on Oak Drive in Evans, and Mr. Paige also works as a cyber security professional with Accenture Federal Services.

The wife told authorities that her husband often drove the girl back and forth to the gym. In January, he admitted to kissing and having oral sex with the juvenile. Mrs. Paige logged into his Instagram account in January and saw messages between the two, so she printed them out.

“Scott said he was going to end it because he wanted to work on the marriage and not go to jail,” the sheriff’s report says.

But last Thursday, the wife came home early to their Evans home and saw a pregnancy test on their kitchen counter and two used tests out. She saw Panda Express on the table with a pink stuffed animal.

“She walked up to the bedroom and Scott attempted to stop her from going into the room,” the report says. “She told Scott he had ten minutes to get himself and the other woman out of the house.”

The wife took their kids and drove down the road. She later confirmed with Panda Express that her husband had been at the restaurant with the 15-year-old girl.

Authorities later tracked Mr. Paige down to the girl’s house while the teen and her father were there. A report says Mr. Paige was good friends with the teen’s father. After finding the suspect there, officers told Mr. Paige to leave and never return nor contact the girl.

Mr. Paige was charged Monday with child molestation. He was being held Tuesday at the Columbia County Detention Center under no bond.

Authorities say the girl was not pregnant.
