With local wizarding world fanatics looking forward to celebrating Harry Potter’s birthday on Wednesday, July 31, several area businesses are gearing up to join in on the magical festivities.
Following the famous series’ publication in 1997 and the first film’s premiere in 2001, many adults were fond of Downtown Augusta’s famous Potter-themed pub crawl, which was discontinued in 2022.

However, Savannah River Brewery Co. is picking up the celebratory torch by hosting a book-focused trivia night for fans on July 31 from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m., with the early-bird question taking place at 6:15 p.m.
Enjoy a night of delectable craft brews and friendly competition at the brewery, located at 813 Fifth St., while battling out over who is the biggest Potterhead of all.

World of Beer Bar and Kitchen is hosting a deliciously magical brunch on Saturday and Sunday, July 27 and 28, for local Hogwart foodies.
Located at 2819 Washington Road, the bar’s menu will include butterbeer french toast, Gryffindor grilled cheese sandwiches, multiple cocktails and so much more.

For those in want of a more upscale celebration, the Frog & Hen Eatery and Coffee Bar will also be hosting a Harry Potter brunch on July 31 at 466 Flowing Wells Road.
Open on Wednesday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., the all-day event will feature Hogwart House cupcakes, themed mocktails and cocktails, photo ops and more.

The Columbia County Library, located at 7022 Evans Town Center Blvd., is also welcoming wizards and witches ages 5 and up to celebrate next Wednesday in the Children’s Program Room from 3:30 – 4:30 p.m.
Enjoy Hogwarts theme crafts and activities to celebrate Potter’s birthday and the beginning of the new school year.
