An unhappy customer Tuesday threatened to put an employee of an Evans auto service shop in a world of hurt rather than pay for the cost of synthetic oil for his vehicle.
According to a report from the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office, McCarty Waverly came to the Express Oil Change and Tire Engineers at 4342 Washington Rd. to complain about an oil change done on Feb. 1. Waverly was not happy with the synthetic oil blend used and wanted to know if an employee on duty would redo the oil change with fully synthetic oil if he paid the difference in cost.
Anthony Jones, who works at the oil change shop, agreed. Once the job was complete, Waverly became irate, according to the police report, declaring that he should not have to pay the difference in cost.
According to the sheriff’s report, McCarty told Jones, “I know what time you get off. I’ll be back up here. I’m going to put you in a body bag.”
Waverly also threatened to put Jones “into more pain than his previous injury” had, according to the report, which went on to explain that Jones had been shot a few months ago. Jones said he wanted to press charges against Waverly for terroristic threats and acts, according to the report.
