The day will soon arrive to reopen Augusta’s Henry H. Brigham Community Center after nearly $10 million in renovations.

Augusta Parks and Recreation announced Monday the grand opening will be Sept. 25 for the 2463 Golden Camp Road center.

Commissioner Bobby Williams, who lives nearby and shepherded the overhaul to a two-year finish, said he is “thrilled” to see the popular center reopen.

It’s a testament to our commitment to providing our residents with a place to gather, learn and grow together,” Williams said.

Parks and Rec Information Officer Frank Rost said in a news release the remodeled center includes the following:

  • Gymnasium
  • Indoor walking track
  • Fitness room
  • Computer lab
  • Dance room
  • E-sports and gaming room
  • Meeting rooms
  • Steam room
  • Sauna
  • Kitchen

A grand-opening ribbon cutting event will feature fun activities for all ages, tours and entertainment, Rost said. More details will soon be available, he said.
