The search for two Augusta men who disappeared in Little River entered its fifth day this morning.

The search resumed at 8 this morning for Eynn Wilson, age 34 and Edward Kirk, age 37, both of Augusta, Georgia Department of Natural Resources spokesman Mark McKinnon said.

“We have searched roughly 1/2 square mile (600 acres),” said McKinnon.

DNR is using its sonar for the search. The Columbia County Fire Department dive team has gone down 12 times so far to check possible targets, according to McKinnon.

The search also includes the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office as well as the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.

GBI Special Agent Pat Morgan said the investigation is continuing.

“As is customary with all cases, the GBI will investigate this incident to determine if any criminal laws have been violated. The GBI continues to interview witnesses and follow other investigative leads regarding the boating incident,” Morgan added.

The search is in Little River at Cherokee Park on Clarks Hill Lake.
