The body found Thursday in the woods off McNutt Road has been identified as an Augusta man.
Devon Laroyce Shade, 32, was discovered deceased in the wooded area on the 2100 block of McNutt Road. The body had been there for several days, according to Richmond County Coroner Mark Bowen.
The death is considered suspicious until autopsy results reveal otherwise, the coroner said.
Shade was active on Facebook through Feb. 26, where he called himself a “wheel enthusiast” who sold custom wheels and steering wheels “made just for you.”
His page indicates ties to Texas as well as Louisville, Georgia. His social media says he went to Jefferson County High School and studied at Albany State University.
