Commissioner Dewey Galeas announced his candidacy for reelection for the District 4 seat with the Columbia County Board of Commissioners in a press release Thursday.
“I humbly ask the citizens of District 4 for their support and confidence,” said Galeas. “Together we can manage the growth such quality invites as we also protect the places so special to us.”
Galeas was elected commissioner of District 4 in 2018 after Bill Morris chose not to seek another term. His current term will end in 2022.
Galeas said that he found it a privilege and honor to serve on the board, noting its accomplishments during his tenure including public safety excellence, low taxes and citizen services.
“I look forward to continuing in service to the great friends and neighbors of the 4th District,” Galeas said.
