District 131 seat to be decided in runoff election Tuesday

Today is Election Day in Columbia County for the Georgia House of Representatives District 131 runoff.

The runoff is between Rob Clifton and Paul Abbott, both of whom are on the Republican ballot. Voting will take place from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at regular precincts for residents in District 131 only. Those precincts are:

  • 013 – Macedonia Church of Grovetown
  • 014 – Stevens Creek Church – Grovetown
  • 015 – Lewis Methodist Church
  • 017 – Patriots Park
  • 018 – New Life Church -Grovetown
  • 019 – Columbia County Health Department
  • 060 – Columbia County Board of Education
  • 064 – Grace Baptist Church
  • 065 – Christ Sanctified Church
  • 120 – Harvest Pointe Fellowship
  • 130 – West Acres Baptist Church
  • 131 – Journey Community Church
  • 132 – Wesley Methodist Church
  • 134 – Columbia County Main Library
  • 136 – CCBOE -Support Complex
  • 137 – Christ the King Lutheran Church

Advanced voting for the runoff took place last week and saw 681 residents cast their votes over the six days. Out of the 256 absentee ballots sent out, 126 had been received as of Friday, June 14. 

The winner of the runoff will face Democratic challenger Heather Rose White in the November election.
