Double Tree Hotel’s outdoor pool almost almost fails health inspection

The health inspection world grades a score below 70 as failing, however, no restaurants, pools or hotels received a failing score from inspections on March 10–14.

Worst scores in this week’s health inspection

This week’s lowest health inspection score was a 78 earned by the Double Tree Hotel of Augusta’s Outdoor Pool 2, located at 2651 Perimeter Parkway, in Augusta.

During the inspection, the inspector noted observing the pool having broken drain covers, which resulted in a 15 point deduction.

“One of 2 drain covers has hole in top. Replace drain covers with new covers, keep records of install date/expiration date of covers,” the report stated.

The inspector also noted witnessing missing pool rules signs around the vicinity of the swimming area, and a stuck flowmeter float, resulting in a combined seven point reduction.

“Replace missing pool rules signs,” the report stated.

The second lowest score of the week was a score of 81 given to a Wife Saver, located at 3318 Washington Road, in Martinez.

The inspector noted observing no paper towels at a handwashing area, which resulted in a four-point reduction.

“Observed lettuce stored uncovered in [walk-in-cooler],” the report stated.

The inspector also noted bacteria build up in an ice machine, which resulted in a loss of four more points.

“Observed build up inside bulk ice machine,” the report stated.

The restaurant was also docked four points for the inspector seeing several containers without proper labeling.

“Observed several working containers without any labeling,” the report stated. “Label working containers with common name of chemical.”
