Date: February 17, 2025

Downtown Soul City is presenting its second Downtown Get Down fundraiser party at Savannah River Brewing Co. in downtown Augusta on Thursday, Feb. 27th from 6 pm to 10 pm.

Local merchant association Downtown Soul City (DSC) is inviting the public to join them to celebrate their community achievements and learn about future initiatives, which DSC Director John Porter says will help make downtown Augusta “as vibrant and as lively as possible.”

“We would love it if more people would come out and help support what we do so we can keep doing bigger and better things,” said Porter.

What to expect

The non-profit association will be hosting the fundraising party featuring the theme “Casino Nights” and attendees are encouraged to put on their best dress to come out looking fancy and stylish.

There will be jazz music provided by locals Bill Karp and by The Billy Pham Trio,  traditional casino games like poker, blackjack, roulette and craps and board games run by Cardboard Castle Games.

More chips will be available for purchase and raffle prizes from DSC members will be available for game winners.

There will be a short presentation on what DSC has done since their incorporation, the impact they’ve made on Downtown Augusta and the community, as well as a vision for this year and beyond. Attendees can meet the owners and representatives of member stores and restaurants who have put on the events like Camp Soul City, Small Business Saturday, Soul City Spectacular, Buddy Week and the Fall Social Circle.

How to get tickets

Tickets for the event can be purchased at the Downtown Soul City website

Included with entry are two drink tickets, food from members Laziza Mediterranean Grill, The Boll Weevil and New Moon Cafe and casino chips.
