Downtown stores to participate in benefit for students

Date: January 26, 2024

Select downtown stores are partnering with Westabou Montessori School for a “Shopping for Scholars” event on Saturday, Jan. 27.

The aim of the event is to bring awareness to the educational practices of Montessori schools and to raise funds for financial aid. A kickoff will begin at 1 p.m. at the Humanitree House, and live music will be played throughout the event.

The event lasts between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m., and shoppers can purchase a reusable shopping bag at Humanitree house, which will give them special coupons that can be used throughout the event. Participants are encouraged to shop at select stores to contribute to the Westabou Montessori Scholarship Fund.

Participating stores include the Book Tavern, Knuckle Sandwiches, Earth Pantry, Art on Broad, Augusta & Co., Field Botanicals, and Humanitree.
