Flipping through his mom’s LP collection until he found just the vinyl recording he wanted to play and sing to is one of the good memories country singer Dustin Lynch has of growing up in Tullahoma, Tenn.
“Having a recording on vinyl was something I always wanted to do, and this was the right time to do it,” said Lynch during a recent phone interview. His recent release “Blue in the Sky” was part of a limited edition pressing for Walmart.
It flew off the shelves, but not before the first one went into his mother’s collection. And it’s something he’d consider doing again.
“It was a great trial,” he said. “The fans really liked it.”

The recording was the fifth studio album for the country music sensation who will bring his “Party Mode” tour to the Bell Auditorium Saturday night.
Lynch has been recording for the past decade. racking up “eight #1s, four Top 5 albums, nine gold and platinum certified singles, and tallying over 3.3 billion global on-demand streams,” according to his official bio.
The “Blue in the Sky” album includes “Thinking ‘Bout You (featuring MacKenzie Porter),” which spent six weeks at number one, plus the current “neon-buzzed single” “Party Mode” as well as the song “Fish In The Sea.”
And after two years without playing packed arenas, Lynch is ready to get into that party mode and hopes his fans will be too.
The show is a lot of fun, and it’s interactive, he said.
“There’s a lot of audience participation,” he said. “And it’s a Saturday night. You have to party.”
He hopes the audience comes ready to dance and sing alone and promises that fans will hear tunes they are familiar with — from some of his older hits to the current favorites.

Lynch broke onto the country scene in 2012 with his platinum recording “Cowboys and Angels” and toured with the biggest names in the business such as Luke Bryan, Florida Georgia Line and Brad Paisley. He’s earned recognition as a member of the Grand Ole Opry, where he’ll play later this year.
Playing the Opry is exciting to the singer who said it’s like coming home because his parents and friends all show up. It’s always a special time, he said.
Lynch’s show begins at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $39.50 to $49.50 and are available at aectix.com.
