Easter Services in the CSRA

Following the third day of Crucifixion, after Good Friday, many churches of the Christian faith will celebrate the Resurrection of Jesus Christ – also known as Easter.

For those who wish to take part in “Resurrection Sunday,” below is a list of local services that will offer various Easter Sunday services on March 31.

Augusta – Richmond County

  • First Baptist Church of Augusta, located at 3500 Walton Way Ext., will hold a contemporary Easter service at 9 a.m. and a traditional one at 11 a.m.
  • Stevens Creek Church will have several services between their three locations. At the church’s Augusta Campus, located at 600 Stevens Creek Road, at 8 a.m., 9 a.m., 10:30 a.m. and noon, while the South Augusta Campus, located at 3358 Peach Orchard Road, will host Sunday services at 9 and 10:30 a.m.
  • Church of the Good Shepherd, located at 2230 Walton Way, will hold morning services at 8, 9 and 11:15 a.m. with a night service hosted at 6 p.m. Nursery options are only available at the 9 and 11:15 a.m. services, and after the 9 a.m. service, the church will have its annual Easter Egg Hunt in the churchyard.
  • Warren Church, located at 3203 Washington Road, will have two services at 9:30 and 11 a.m.
  • The Augusta Worship Center – The Church of the Living God International, located at 3840 Mike Padgett Highway, will hold their Easter Sunday service at 11 a.m.
  • Hillcrest Baptist Church, located at 3045 Deans Bridge Road, will hold two services for Easter at 7:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. Breakfast will be served following the sunrise service.
  • Vineyard Church of Augusta, located at 3126 Parrish Road, will host a Sunday service from 10-11:15 a.m.
  • St. Paul’s Church, located at 605 Reynolds St., will hold two services at 8 and 11 a.m., followed by a 5:30 Celtic Evening Prayer and Communion and a 6:30 p.m. Compline that ends with a 20-minute silent sit.
  • The Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church, located at 720 Telfair St., will hold Easter mass at 8 and 10:30 a.m.
  • Curtis Baptist Church, located at 1348 Broad St., will hold a service at 10:15 a.m., with coffee and bagels being served at 9:40 a.m.
  • Saint Mary on the Hill Catholic Church, located at 1420 Monte Sano Ave., will hold Easter masses at 7:45 and 10:30 a.m., as well as 12:15 p.m. and 5 p.m.

Columbia County

  • Stevens Creek Church’s Grovetown Campus, located at 5050 High Meadows Drive, will hold services at 9 a.m. and 10:30 a.m.
  • Warren Church’s Grovetown Campus, located at 777 Horizon South Parkway, will hold services at 8, 9:30 and 11:15 a.m.
  • Journey Community Church’s Evans’ Campus, located at 4798 Hardy McManus Road, will hold Easter services at 9 a.m., 10:30 a.m. and noon.
  • Abilene Baptist Church will host two Easter services at 8:30 and 11 a.m. at the Columbia County Performing Arts Center, located at 1000 Market St. During the preschool and elementary school services, professional cartoonist John Whitworth will present the Easter story through his drawings to interest younger audiences.
  • St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church, located in Grovetown at 4921 Columbia County Road, will hold Easter masses at 7 a.m., 9 a.m. and 12:15 p.m., and a Spanish service will also be held at 2 p.m.
