A school bus from Parkway Elementary School, which had students from two fourth grade classes on board, was involved in a collision with another car.

This collision took place on the afternoon of Nov. 8 on Washington Road at Eisenhower Drive as the school bus was returning from a scheduled field trip.

According to the Columbia County School District, there are no visible injuries at this time, but students and staff were evaluated by medical professionals.

A statement from the district noted that another bus will transport the students back to the school as soon as possible.

“Safety of students and staff is a top priority and we felt it was best to notify our parents in the event your child raises any concerns,” said the statement, which was sent to the elementary school’s parents.
