Two musical shows will be coming to Columbia County this September, as the Columbia County Performing Arts Center (CCPAC) continues with this year’s popular entertainment.

On Saturday, Sept. 7, the Black Jacket Symphony will present “Madman across the Water,” a live concert experience where the symphony will recreate Elton John’s iconic album for enthusiastic listeners.

“Note for note, sound for sound – plus a full set of Elton’s greatest hits,” stated a press release from the Columbia County Performing Arts Center.

Hosted in Evans at 1000 Market St., the performing center will open its doors for guests at 7 p.m., prior to the show starting at 8 p.m.

Tickets range from $35-40 and can be purchased at https://thecenterofcc.com/event/black-jacket-symphony-presents-elton-john/

Later in the year, the Columbia County Performing Arts Center will showcase viral premier electronic violinist Lindey Sterling on Dec. 14 at 8 p.m.

Also known for her dancing and aerial performances, the multi-platinum-selling musician and composer will continue her North American Snow Waltz Tour with a special stop in Evans.

“The tour, which gets its name from Stirling’s 2022 chart-topping ‘Snow Waltz’ album, promises to be theatrical, eclectic, high-energy and at least a little bit whimsical,” stated a press release from the CCPAC.

Stirling will mix dancing and acrobatics into her unique interpretations of holiday staples such as “Sleigh Ride,” “Joy to the World” and “Deck the Halls,” in addition to a few originals.

In a recent talk show, Stirling described the concert as having a hint of “spookiness” because of her love of movies such as “The Nightmare Before Christmas” and “Harry Potter.”

“That is quintessential Stirling, an artist who stylishly blends sonics with visuals – from her arresting mixture of pop, classical, hip-hop and electronica, to her meticulous attention to impactful, thematic album and video artwork,” stated a press release from CCPAC. “Artistically, she defies categorization.”

Tickets will be on sale starting Friday, Sept. 6, at 10 a.m. and start at $59.50.
