As Christmas fast approaches, The Empty Stocking Fund of the CSRA is asking the community to help families facing financial hardships, rising costs and other challenges in the aftermath of Hurricane Helene.
For over 90 years, The Empty Stocking Fund of the CSRA has been a cornerstone of holiday giving in the Greater Augusta community, and this year help is needed more than ever to ensure that every child has the chance to experience the joy of the holiday season.
“Holiday gifts may seem out of reach for some, but together, we can make sure these children have presents to unwrap this holiday season,” stated a press release from The Empty Stocking Fund.
A donation of just $35 will provide holiday gifts valued at nearly $100 for one child, and this year, The Empty Stocking Fund is expecting to serve more families than ever before as local needs have grown from increased challenges.
“While there are several holiday gift programs in the area, what makes The Empty Stocking Fund unique is our approach: empowering parents to select the perfect gifts for their children,” according to a press release from The Empty Stocking Fund.
Unlike traditional gift distribution programs, The Empty Stocking Fund allows parents to go online, register their children and choose gifts from an online e-store. After shopping, they can pick up the gifts from one of two convenient local locations: the Boys & Girls Club Headquarters at Hub East or Augusta Technical College in Waynesboro.
“Your generous donation, no matter the amount, can make a significant difference in the lives of local children this holiday season,” stated a press release from The Empty Stocking Fund.
Interested parties can donate easily and securely online at www.emptystockingfundcsra.org.
Donations will appear as “Community Foundation for the CSRA” on donators’ credit card or bank statement.
Alternatively, donations can also be mailed to: Empty Stocking Fund, P.O. Box 31358, Augusta, Ga, 30903.
“In 2023, The Empty Stocking Fund helped 2,043 children throughout the CSRA, but with an increase in requests this year, we need your support to ensure that no child is left without gifts this holiday season,” stated a press release from The Empty Stocking Fund.
